Helen Wright Center Dinner

The Lodge has arranged with Urban Ministries of Wake County (https://www.urbanmin.org/helen-wright-center/) to provide dinner on four evenings this year:

Tuesday, 4/9 (went well)
Sunday, 6/23 (went well)
Sunday, 8/25 (went well)
Sunday, 10/27

Teams of six lodge members will be assigned to each date. Contact Nick Verna at nickverna@nickverna.com if you would like to volunteer to help.

All meals are to be prepared in advance and then ready to heat and serve at the Center. These will include entrée, sides, salad and dessert along with beverages of iced tea, lemonade or fruit juice (no soda). Subsequent expense will be covered by the Lodge. Teams are not responsible for cleanup.

As a result of Festa Italiana Raleigh, we have 37 new members. Our own member, Chef Joe Lumbrazo of Backyard Bistro in Raleigh, has opened the meeting room at his restaurant for us to dine and meet our newest members. You can order your food and beverages from the menu. This should be an exciting event where all of us can get to know our newest members, share our Italian heritage, dine and have fun.

Wine Tasting and Music

$5.00 includes five wines and wine glass, and it may be paid on site. Wines are available for purchase with prices ranging from $14-$18 per 750 ml bottle. You may take a self-guided tour through the vineyards and the winery, which features antique wine presses. Toast and tunes to follow from 2-4 with the band NO Worries.

Bring lawn chairs. Also bring a hand held appetizer or snack to share. Event may be cancelled in case of inclement weather.

USO Family Holiday Party

The Lodge will run the cake walk and will need 25-30 cakes/pies/cupcakes as prizes for this event. They may be store bought. Volunteers (already at limit) need to arrive by 10:00 AM so that we can set up by 10:30. The baked goods are to be dropped off at the hangar by 10:00 AM or to Fran Giannuzzi or Nick Verna by Friday, December 13 for this wonderful USO Event.
